Your Life Can Be Your Best!

Yes, you can! Are you working on building your best body. Remember, your best body will not be the same as anyone else. We are all different and some of us will never be as skinny as others and they will never have a rounder shape, at least until they get older. I am among the "older" definition, but I am amazed at the weight issues going on in the world and the differences that getting older make. Unless you were really skinny as a person in the 20's it appears people are
gaining more and more. Is it all that processed food?
So, the goal is not to be skinny. The goal is to be healthy and feel your best. What does that look like for you? Don't measure yourself by others. Also, remember, do not focus on losing weight, focus on being the best you can be (sounds like the Marines, doesn't it.) But when you are being realistic about your goals and your expectations for yourself, you won't be disappointed. I don't look at all the in-shape 25 year olds at the gym. I focus on me and what I want.
I am watching a new movie on Lifetime today that focuses on 3 women and the emotional issues surrounding their self-esteem and weight. Getting into the new lifestyle includes major attitude changes. For me, I do these kind of changes better with black or white thinking, as in I'm better off keeping a healthy diet simple. When it gets real complicated with my old habits and my
lifestyle, I don't do as well. I need to keep my options simple, but others do better at the creativity and excitement of a new, healthy diet.
Ideas like nutri-system, seattle sutton, and jenny craig appeal to me because they do the variety for me and the preparation. That would be easier for me. Perhaps I should have been born with a personal food preparer:)

Weight loss, New Year, and success.....

So, how is everyone doing with their weight loss intentions - or as I've stated previously, the goal should really achievement of your ideal goal - such as "I now weigh 160 pounds and i am a my ideal weight. I feel healthy and I take care of my body. Focus on the goal. If you concentrate on weight loss, the goal is always weight loss, not a healthy body.
As for a new year and perhaps the new year's resolutions, take it easy on yourself. Perhaps new year's resolutions aren't the best way to go. How about deciding to get as healthy as you can be, not for the new year, but as a new way of being. As with changing life for the better, it is a growth process, and you work your way toward readying yourself to be the best you can be. It is not mine to say that you are not there right now, but if you arent' there, then that's okay. Working on your body won't work unless you are in the right place mentally and emotionally.
